Cooking and Table Salt

Fine and coarse Himalayan table salt, milled in bulk for retail packing, commercial kitchens, and food manufacturing. Supplied plain or iodised to meet mandatory fortification requirements in regulated markets, with optional free-flow treatment for humid climates where untreated pink salt cakes on the shelf. Packed in 25kg and 50kg food-grade bags, one-tonne jumbo bags, or filled directly into your own retail packaging under private label. BRCGS Grade AA certified, shipping to 45 countries.

Table and Cooking Salt Grades

Five grades across retail, foodservice, and manufacturing. Fine table grade is the standard retail line, milled to pour and dissolve like conventional table salt so consumers switching to pink salt notice no difference in use. Extra fine serves seasoning blends and dry mixes where particle size affects dispersion through a formulation. Coarse cooking grade suits commercial kitchens, brining, and finishing. Kosher-style flake grade is cut wider and flatter for chefs who dose by pinch rather than by measure. Iodised grade is fortified with potassium iodate to your destination market’s mandated level, with documentation to evidence it at customs.

Why Himalayan Table Salt Needs More Than Milling

Pink salt sold as table salt fails in two predictable ways, and both are solvable at production rather than at your customer’s warehouse.

Bulk Table Salt for Retail Packing and Foodservice

Table salt is the highest-volume line in the edible pink salt category and the one where switching supplier is easiest. That means the relationship is held or lost on operational detail rather than on the product itself, because the salt is broadly the same wherever it comes from.

The two failures that end those relationships are caking and compliance. Caking is a climate problem. A salt that behaves perfectly in a European warehouse can set solid in a Gulf or Southeast Asian one, and the retail packs come back as returns against your customer’s margin, not ours. Compliance is a regulatory problem. Markets with mandatory iodisation will not clear untreated salt for human consumption, and a supplier who discovers this after the container has sailed has an expensive problem and a customer who will not repeat. Both are specified before production rather than diagnosed after arrival.

Beyond that, the operational detail that decides repeat orders is fill accuracy. Retail packing runs volumetrically, so a batch that arrives at a different bulk density than the last one forces a line stop and a recalibration, and every minute of that comes out of your customer’s production schedule. We mill to consistent density and document it on the certificate of analysis so your filling team knows what is arriving before they open the pallet.

Grade selection is worth getting right at the quoting stage rather than the sampling stage. Buyers moving from refined white salt to pink salt frequently order a coarser grade than their application needs, on the assumption that visible crystals sell better on shelf, and then find the product dissolves too slowly in a brine or disperses unevenly through a dry seasoning mix. Tell us the application and we will recommend the grade against it, including where a finer cut would serve you better than the one you asked for.

We supply retail packers, private label and own-brand programmes, foodservice distributors, commercial kitchen suppliers, and food manufacturers across 45 countries. Salt ships as bulk ingredient for your own filling line, or filled, labelled, and finished as retail-ready units under your brand. Our export team can advise on grade selection, iodisation requirements for your market, anti-caking specification for your climate, and the documentation your customs authority will ask for.
